So Not My Thing...

This is likely one the only time you will see my picture on this blog. I would have cropped myself out actually, but my husband snapped this shot and insisted that I had to be included, otherwise NO ONE would believe I made this pillow! He thinks it is the scariest thing I have ever made - he says the dog's eyes are red. He cackled all evening long, amusing himself with jokes about this pillow.

It's SO not my kind of thing.

I've done the fur-baby phase. I had a sweet little Shih Tzu that I loved and babied and lavished all sorts of attention on. She had a rose-bud colar and never went out in bad weather and lived like a queen until we had the boys. She was not cut out to be a big "sister" so I found her a fantastic new home (really tried to get these people to adopt ME!) and ended my time as a dog person.

I like dogs okay, some very much actually (hi Cooper, hi Cassie, hi Obi-Wan) and know that A would LOVE one, but N is massively allergic and it's just not possible. Either way, I'm not sure I was ever the sort of person to have tapestry pillows of my pets around the house. And tassels. Mr. Ed and I agree that the tassels really kill it. He says they look like the mane of a dead horse (Mr. Ed and Gordon Ramsay were separated at birth...). And the eyes are a little red.....

But, my Aunt asked me to put this together for her and I love my Aunt. I liked the placemats I made for her last week better, in the sense that I may make some for myself someday, but with Mr. Ed's jokes I had WAY more fun with this silly pillow.  And A immediately recognised the dog as "one of Gammon's!" and "just like Cassie" so someone in this house approves.

At the moment my only real objection is that Cassie (my Aunt's lovely dog) is a Collie and the dog on this pillow is a Sheltie. I may not be a dog person, but I am a stickler for accuracy! (Mr. Ed gave me a hug for that, he thinks I'm nuts to even know the difference :) )

I may not be a dog person... but I DO know a thing or two....
