Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!

My two little ninjas. We had to light up N like a Christmas tree but A was relatively easy to see.
Really must learn to steer them towards brighter costumes! Or invest in reflective tape.
They wore those costumes for a week leading up. A's has been washed so many times I'm impressed its still in one piece! And EVERYWHERE they've gone they have a sword stuck in the back of their t-shirts. A will break out a spinjitzu demonstration at the slightest request. He is INTO his character.

It rained. Again. N looked up at me with his big blue eyes and asked "why does it ALWAYS rain on Halloween Mum??" He doesn't think my "costume" of Mom with Umbrella (all wrapped in glow sticks so the boys, and any passing space shuttles, can see me) is funny or inspired at all.

But they had a blast. We didn't try to go with friends this year - we know our whole street - so we said hello to everyone, but it's just too exciting for them to have to wait for more than each other. This was A's year. He GOT it this year. He would run up to every door, ring the doorbell, and shriek Trick or Treat while striking a ninja pose. Then he would curl up, giggle and say "sorry if I scared you" through his fingers. It was the most adorable thing EVER!
Then he would take his treat, say thank you and turn to me and Mr. Ed and Grandma and yell "I gots ANOTHER candy!". He could not have been more excited.
The funniest moment of the night was at one house where Darth Vader answered the door. The guy was tall enough to be the real deal and I think he was expecting to be a little scary. A was SO happy to see "him" that he gave him a big hug!
Star Wars was huge in our house for a long time. Vader is NOT scary.

I love our street. It takes us about an hour to go from top to bottom and then we are done. It's all uphill on the way back home and for now, its exactly enough to get them a huge haul of candy AND wear them out. We were home by 7:30 and tucked in by 8.

Happy Happy Halloween :)
